6th Semi Annual Burnabout Trip | 14 May - 17 May | Double J Ranch

Welcome to burnabout.com! The only place to get the real dirt on the burnabout semi-annual camping trip.

How’s it work?

Simple. It happens twice a year. We camp on private land. We provide the rental fees for the location, set up two large community tents, provide meals, coffee/juice, sound system, and of course fire. You show up with a tent, bedding, snacks and any other spirits (this is a BYOB event) or personal items you may need to feel comfy. That’s it. Pitch in, enjoy, and party! How can you pitch in? Put your trash in proper receptacles, help clean up after meals, help with infrastructure set up and breakdown, gather firewood, and help others that may not be as well prepared as you!

The Double J Ranch Hacienda & Art Ranch
Once again, extra BIG thanks to Jimmy and Jane at the Double J Ranch for hosting our event for the third time. If you haven't been before, it's an awesome location, right on the Brazos river. Once again, we'll be camping right next to the river. As we all learned last trip, unless you have a 4-wheel drive vehicle, DO NOT drive down to the river or we'll have to tow you out. Maybe. Depending on how Brent's feeling that day, you'll be at his mercy. For those that do not have 4-wheel drive, we'll be using our new burnabout trailer to haul your gear down the hill to your camp site and up again when you depart. WE HAD TOO MANY 2 WHEEL DRIVE VEHICLES DRIVE DOWN THE HILL ON OUR FALL TRIP. PLEASE RESPECT THE ALL MIGHTY LAND CRUISER THIS TRIP, BRENT LOVES HER. And we do too! Plus it's really hard on the dirt road by causing erosion.

What the trip costs and where the money is going.
Due to these difficult times, the cost this trip will be reduced to $50 per person, $15 less than last trip. We will have a Port-a-pod again, and $10 a person goes to Jimmy and Jane for hosting our event. The additional funds will provide for meals, and any extra funds will go toward repayment of the trailer expense. We're projecting it will be quite a few burnabout trips before we can totally recoup the $1600 cost of the new burnabout trailer.

Location, Location, Location
And do we have a great one this event. This burnabout will be at the Double J Ranch in Mineral Wells owned by Jimmy and Jane Baldwin, www.djartranch.com. And as they say, it’s a “A Creative Outpost to Inspire the Human Spirit”, and a darn beautiful place.

Locations of burnabout are planned to change each event. If you know of someone who has private property - acres of land - that would be interested in hosting our event, please let us know. Contact: burnout@burnabout.com

Land owners generously hosting our events understand that ALL burnabouters practice NO TRACE camping. That means when we leave, it’s like we were never there! Please give of land sponsors the respect they deserve, bring old tins for your cigarette butts and use camp receptacles. Those that do not leave their camp site as NO TRACE will be not allowed to participate in future events.
